Tibor Nagy’s everlasting songs
Tibor Nagy lives a double life: he’s a musician and a lawyer at the same time; and now, in 2014 he is celebrating the 40th year of his career as an artist. Throughout these years he had written a few hundred songs, chansons, musicals and film music, which did not fade away with time, but are still played at different events these days.
Tibor believes that four things make a great song: a catching tune, excellent lyrics with good phrases, a charismatic singer and of course good propaganda; to have the song played as many times and at as many places as possible. He wrote 50 songs for Laszlo Komar; many students graduated to their song called Húsz ev múlva, while other tunes such as Postakocsi and Táncoló fekete lakkcipők are still hit songs. In 1992 his musical called „A kölyök” – The Kid became such a big hit it was played in 12 different theaters more than 700 times and is still performed today.
Only a few people can say they have made something everlasting in this rushing world of ours and Tibor Nagy is one of them.
